Beer Review - Arcadia Nut Brown Ale.

Arcadia Brewing Company - Arcadia Nut Brown Ale

Beer Type: English Brown Ale

Appearance: 12 oz brown bottle with a squirrel shadow on it. Beer poured a reddish-brown mahogany color with just a little bit of lacing and a thin head.

Smell: A little bit of sweet malt and toasted nuts. Overall this is a fairly mild aroma.

First Drink: Same as the nose - a bit of sweet malt followed by some toasted nut flavors and hops.

Mouthfeel: Fairly thin overall.. it doesn't leave a lasting impression.

Last Drink: A bit of chocolate now with a lot more tart cherry flavors coming through.

Drinkability: Easy to drink and you don't need to think about it too much. Nice.

Notes: Comes from a Michigan brewery that I haven't spent too much time drinking. This is a nice mellow brown ale that shouldn't offend most beer drinkers.

Verdict: 3.25 out of 5. Pretty basic but quite drinkable.

Progress Report 4/8/12 - Hoppin' about.

Been a bit of a hobby pinball lately... just bouncing around on projects as they appeal to me. Work has ceased on the BB LM/gator team as the skinks were driving me crazy. Picked up the Chaos/all Khorne BB team in a few test games for Chaos Cup rosters, then bought up a Willy Miniatures Necromantic team on a whim before jumping back into the modeling of my all Zombie Undead team for Zlurpeebowl. And in the middle of that I crammed in a bit of speed painting on some special minis for use in the second annual Special K Cup tournament which is being run by my local BB league next month. Fun!

First Zombie and his spilled Zlurpee.
Shiny purple Human Linemen are GOOOOO
All of this was hampered a bit (including posting on the blog/internet) by a couple injuries to my index fingers - one where I chopped a bit off my left hand, and one where I jammed 1/4" splinter under the nail of my right hand. Made painting and typing quite difficult. I still managed to get a few posts up on my other blog - The Grind - including a new mix of metal tunes for April. Check it out and let me know what you think!
