Beer! Here's one from the archives... don't forget to look me up on Untapp'd! User name is the same as this blog - Randroid.
Beer Type: American Amber/Red Ale
Appearance: 12 oz. brown bottle with a big hairy dog illustrated on the label. Big Sky has a unique style of label that seems to always feature a woodland animal. Beer poured a reddish-amber with no real head to speak of.
Smell: Hops, orange zest, sweet malt and a bit of grain all come through with a good sniff.
First Drink: A little caramel malt on the tongue that is quickly followed by the citrus and spicy hops.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with a nice carbonation and a dry finish.
Last Drink: Hints of dark chocolate or ripe fruit come through at the end, especially once the beer has gotten a bit warmer.
Drinkability: Really easy going down - this beer makes me feel good about winter.
Notes: This is different from most "winter warmer" style beers I have had but I like it just the same. Too bad it is a seasonal item! Reminds me a bit of the Alaskan Red Ale.
Verdict: 4.5 out of 5. Damn fine flavor with a lot going on in between.
